[With his free hand, Clay reaches out to cup Allen's cheek, feeling all sorts of fluttery feelings just waiting to burst out. All it really takes is just one more thing for that to happen, or for them to die off a little.]

So... what do you say, Starlight? Are we dating?

[He looks back up at Clay when he cups his cheek. He's still...a little scared, but he'll still smile at him when he hears that name.]

Yes. Yes, we are dating.

[Sure, there were still fears, and nerves. But...it's like he said, that's just part of life, isn't it? If Clay was willing to put up with all those things then...who was he to reject someone he cared so much for?]

[Boom, there goes the dam that was holding back all those fluttery feelings. The smile on his face spreads into a big, happy grin, and he bounces in his place a couple of times before he leans in to kiss Allen on the lips, then pulls back to jump to his feet, fists punching at the air.]

Yes! Yes! We're dating!!

[Holy shit that's quite a reaction. No one he's ever gone out with reacted with THAT much enthusiasm. Though with how happy he's feeling right now? It's making him laugh and wave his hands as if to try to get him to settle down a little]

Clay! You're going to make the whole ship hear!

[THIS ISN'T EVEN OUR SHIP CLAY]

Let them hear!

[And with Allen piping up, Clay goes ahead and puts his hands at his sides to easily lift him off the floor and up in the air for a spin or two, then lowers him down for a tight, enthusiastic embrace, though Allen will find that his feet are still off the floor with Clay holding him up.]

We're dating! Who cares who hears now?

Ah-!

[He wasn't expecting to get picked up off the floor and spun around like that. Damn Clay you're strong. But he recovers quick enough, laughing as he wraps his arms around his neck for support as he keeps his feet up]

Yes! We're dating!

[Yeah... Yeah this is the guy who can lift up two grown men with one arm, HE'S PRETTY STRONG. He laughs in response, bright and happy, resisting the urge to just spin again because he's still got his arms full of Allen and all.]

I really, really like you.

[And with that, he leans his head up to kiss him, still enthusiastically, but longer than the one he initially gave him. He can't help it - he's just so happy.]

[He'll return the kiss enthusiastically as well. When it breaks, his smile is bright when he looks at Clay. It was hard not to give such an expression. Even if he wasn't extremely happy himself, Clay's excitement was practically infectious.]

I really, really like you too.

[He moves to rest his forehead against Clay's as he keeps embracing the other tightly (though he'll put his feet down). This was really happening. It was truly, really happening]

[With Allen's feet moving down, that's Clay's cue to lower him to the floor as well, shutting his eyes when he feels his... his boyfriend's(??)... forehead resting against his own, holding on just as tightly. It really was happening, and in that moment, Clay can feel himself start to (metaphorically) be pulled back down to Earth, his connection with Allen letting him live in the moment right there with him, rather than go bouncing off like a hyperactive puppy. He still has a bright grin on his face, but he feels a little calmer. It's one of the things he's been looking for.]

[While Clay felt himself get pulled back to Earth, Allen felt lighter than he had in years. With Clay, it was easier to put those worries and weight that had been weighing him down aside. He could feel his fears ebbing away from Clay's arms around him, his nerves getting calmer. To be there in the moment, instead of stuck in the past or possible futures that had not yet come to pass. What mattered that he was here now with Clay, his...his boyfriend, with a smile as bright as the other's on his face. He hadn't thought he'd been looking, but he certainly had the feeling that he's found something at long last.]
