[He crosses his arms and puts them on the arm of the wheelchair, then rests his chin on them while looking down at the rings]
I like them. They make good promise rings. [He can't help the blush that comes up, feeling a little flustered now. Now that he's right here with Allen and with the rings, it feels a lot more real than just texting about it.] So, uh... Ha. Wow. We're really doing this. [He sounds more awed and shy than anything]
Nooo no no. [He laughs a little while he says it though, moving one hand to rest lightly on Allen's knee] Not while you're still like this. ... Technically I'm down on a knee, so we got that part out of the way?
[Good because while his legs are getting better, he's pretty sure kneeling would still hurt some. Still, um, this was probably something they were supposed to make seem formal right? So he'll lift up the box and hold up to Clay]
[He blurts it out, probably out of nerves, with a fist clenched and everything. But realizing this is probably supposed to be formal, Clay widens his eyes before shaking his head, then starts over a bit sheepishly.]
[Okay that very enthusiastic outburst? Well between that sheer goofiness of it and his own nerves, it makes him crack up. Which the laughter causes enough of a shake to make him drop the ring box he was holding up]
[And that makes Clay crack up, letting out the loud and boisterous laugh that makes him fall back to his butt. It's a combination of some leftover nerves, Allen's laughter, and the fact that the ring box just fell to the freakin floor]
[You know, Clay's spent so long with Allen that he can decipher his accent flawlessly, but right now, while Allen's laughing like that? Man, is it hard to understand him!]
Wait - what?
[Still, he laughs, and he goes ahead and picks up the ring box anyway, seeing how he was about to do it before he started laughing like that.]
It's a small stringed instrument. [He observes his ring a bit, turning it over and over] Kind of like a harp, but different. You strum it, like you would a guitar, rather than pluck it like a harp.
[And once his examination is over, Clay goes ahead and puts the chain around his neck. He's pretty sure the ring isn't his size, plus people might think it means something more than a promise if he wears it on his finger.]
[Allen will follow suit, putting the ring around his neck. His looks closer to his size, so maybe sometimes he'll switch it up and put it on his hand...but eh. Just follow along with what Clay does for now]
Yeah! I haven't actually heard it myself, but I liked to look up the constellations and what they represented back at home.
[Because of course he would! With that said, Clay takes a moment to look down at his ring, holding it up by the chain, before he lets it go in favor of resting his hand on Allen's knee.]
[He shuts his eyes and lets out a breath, then looks at Allen with a smile.]
Whatever happens to us in the future, if one of us ends up going home, or if we stay together for years... I want you to know that you've given me the best time of my life. I know, I know that I'm living on borrowed time, but you've made every second worth it. You've made me so happy, Starlight.
[He shifts a bit as his other hand comes up, enough to hold Allen's cheek]
I really think you're that "one" that people like to talk about. And no matter what happens, I'll never, ever regret any moment that I've spent with you.
[The words catch him by surprise. Not because of the loving tone. No, Clay's always been affectionate and open about his feelings. Every time they talked, they made sure to exchange "I love you's" at least once, even if it's just as a goodbye.
But hearing that Clay sees him as "the one", that he's given him the best time in his life? Allen's...never really heard that before from someone. He was always coming in second, usually as a replacement to someone else they cared about more. But to hear otherwise? Especially from someone who he loved more than he thought you could love someone?
He ends up smiling, reaching out to touch Clay's own cheek. There's tears in his eyes, but they are the happy sort]
Oh, Clay...I feel the same way. The luckiest thing that's ever happened to me is meeting you.

So...Clay, will you...um, keep dating me?

[He blurts it out, probably out of nerves, with a fist clenched and everything. But realizing this is probably supposed to be formal, Clay widens his eyes before shaking his head, then starts over a bit sheepishly.]
I mean, uh... yes. Til the end.

[And that makes Clay crack up, letting out the loud and boisterous laugh that makes him fall back to his butt. It's a combination of some leftover nerves, Allen's laughter, and the fact that the ring box just fell to the freakin floor]
Hahaha! I-It's fine! We're fine - Haha!

Oy- could you pick them up while you're down there?! It's hard to reach-!
Action; 9/25
Wait - what?
[Still, he laughs, and he goes ahead and picks up the ring box anyway, seeing how he was about to do it before he started laughing like that.]
H-Here, take it!
Action; 9/25
Hey now, I already asked! It's your turn, isn't it?
Action; 9/25
[Some giggles of his own escape as he opens the ring box, then holds it up for Allen]
Will you keep dating me?
Action; 9/25
[Okay, time to calm down. He tries to stop the giggles and clears his throat]
Yes, of course! Until the end.
Action; 9/25
[He exclaims it again, this time just out of his usual enthusiasm. Afterwards, he puts both hands on the box, keeping it close to Allen]
You get first choice! Choose whichever one you want and I'll take the other.

Action; 9/25
[He makes a hmmm sound as he looks at them]
I'll take...this one! [He'll reach down to pluck up the Aquila one]
Action; 9/25
[With that, Clay takes the other one, then sets the box aside so that he can inspect it with both hands.]
Then I'll take the lyre, Lyra!
Action; 9/25
[He'll look closer at his, trying to spot the eagle]
What's a lyre again?
Action; 9/25
[And once his examination is over, Clay goes ahead and puts the chain around his neck. He's pretty sure the ring isn't his size, plus people might think it means something more than a promise if he wears it on his finger.]

Oh, sounds pretty!

[Because of course he would! With that said, Clay takes a moment to look down at his ring, holding it up by the chain, before he lets it go in favor of resting his hand on Allen's knee.]
Hey, Starlight?
Action; 9/25
Yes, Cowboy?
